Fouls Committed and Cards for this Weekend's Games.
One of the best spots to target when betting the game is fouls committed and cards dished out, we have several selections for this weekends games where we think there is some great value.
1) Joao Gomes to be booked 0.5 Units (4.75, 15/4, +375)
Joao Gomes has received 6 cards in 9 starts for Villa this season, which is incredibly high card numbers and goes with a strong history of bookings during his time at Wolves. He committed 4 fouls across his two games with Fulham last season, this will be a competitive game with the edge to Villa meaning that Gomes may have to break up Fulham counter attacks increasing the chance of the booking we need. This price is very generous for a player that has a strong card history and can lose his cool when the game is not going his sides way.
2) Sasa Lukic to be booked 0.5 Units (3.1, 21/10, +210)
Sasa Lukic is a man very familiar with a Premier League booking, having received 21 cards in 48 games in his last two seasons with Fulham. He has received 2 cards in 6 games already for Ipswich, committing 3 fouls in 4 of those 6 games suggesting he has been lucky not to have more cards. Ipswich will be able to have more of the ball than usual against a very counter attack based Hull side, and Lukic being deployed in that defensive midfield role will be responsible for breaking up the Hull counters putting him in a good position to go into the referee's book.
3) Bournemouth Over 1.5 cards 1 Unit (1.56, 14/25, -178)
Bournemouth play at a very high intensity this is increased at home. Their tenacious press has lead them to having high card numbers with 15 of their 19 home games last season seeing them go over the 1.5 mark. They are tied first for cards this season with 22 showing that the management change has not stop their regular appointments with the referee's book. This selection hit in both games last season with Leeds who are a physical side who are evenly matched with Bournemouth which should be a great recipe for this bet.
4) Nico Gonzalez to commit 2+ fouls 1.5 Units
Nico has started life at Newcastle with a barrage of fouls, hitting 2 or more in 6 of his 7 starts for the club. This is not unusual for Nico as he committed 30 fouls in 17 starts for Man City last season and 37 fouls in 17 starts for Porto before coming to England. The move from Man City to Newcastle has meant he has a lot more time carrying out his defensive duties allowing for his foul committing tendencies to skyrocket his numbers. This helped by Newcastle struggling with the loss of so many key players, poor results and performances has increased the foul chances for their new midfielder who is happy to oblige.
